What is Scratch?

Scratch was developed by the MIT Media Lab as a free, simple-to-learn but powerful programming tool. By moving blocks of coded directions, students build scripts that tell characters (sprites) how to act.

With Scratch, students can create:

Animations
Simulations
Computer games
Interactive projects
Graphic designs
Music projects
Stories
Programs
